Porcelain or ceramic — which is better?

Porcelain is denser and absorbs almost no water (0.5% or less), so it’s the better choice for floors, showers, wet areas and outdoors. Ceramic is a bit softer and more affordable and is excellent for walls, backsplashes and light-traffic floors.

What PEI rating do I need for floor tile?

Use PEI 3 or higher for residential floors, and PEI 4–5 for heavy traffic or commercial spaces. PEI 1–2 tiles are meant for walls and light use only. We make sure the tile matches where it’s going.

Can tile look like wood?

Yes — wood-look plank porcelain gives you the warmth and grain of wood with the waterproof toughness of tile. It’s ideal for bathrooms, laundry rooms and homes with pets, where real wood wouldn’t be a good fit.

Does tile or grout need to be sealed?

Natural stone and cement-based grout should be sealed and periodically re-sealed; most glazed porcelain and ceramic does not need sealing. Epoxy and stain-resistant grouts cut down on maintenance. We seal what needs it as part of the job.

Is tile a good choice for showers?

Tile is the gold standard for showers when it’s installed over proper waterproofing with the right slope and a quality pan. The waterproofing behind the tile is what prevents leaks — it’s where cheap shower jobs fail, and where we don’t cut corners.

How do I clean tile floors?

Sweep or vacuum, then damp-mop with a pH-neutral cleaner — tile is one of the easiest floors to keep clean. Keep grout fresh by wiping spills and cleaning it periodically; re-seal cement grout as needed.

We will not sell around you

Bring a client in and the relationship stays yours. We quote what you specify, and if we think the specification will fail we tell you, not them.

Samples that go where you go

Take them to the client, to the site, or to a meeting. We would rather have samples out of the building than sitting on a rack looking tidy.

Installation we stand behind

Flooring, remodeling and roofing are one company here, with a licensed plumber, electrician and general contractor in the building. A specification that touches drains, thresholds or heights has somebody to answer it.

If You Buy Wholesale and Still Have to Find Labour

Plenty of builders and remodelers in this market buy their flooring wholesale from a trade-only showroom, which works well right up to the point where the material lands on the job and somebody has to install it. That part is yours to solve, every time, on every job.

We will take the whole scope. Material and labour, measured, quoted and installed, with one number and one company to hold responsible. Or, if you would rather keep buying where you buy, we will install what you supply — we do that too, and we will tell you before we start if what you have bought is going to give us trouble.

The Part Most Stores Get Wrong

A designer does not need a discount as much as a straight answer. Is it in stock or is it eight weeks. Will that pattern work across a hallway that is out of square. Is the subfloor going to hold the flatness that plank needs. We would rather tell you no in the showroom than find out on site, because the schedule you lose is yours and the reputation is yours too.

Trade pricing and terms are set per account. Tell us what you specify and how often, and we will put something sensible in place rather than quote you a number off a wall chart.

Straight Answers

Do you work with designers who bring their own client?

Yes, and it is the way we prefer it. You keep the relationship and the client keeps you. We are the floor and the crew.

Can you hold a specification for a phased project?

Yes — and we record the product, the colour and the run so phase two actually matches phase one. Ask for it at the start; it cannot be recovered afterwards.

Will you quote against a specification I have already written?

Yes. If we think a line is wrong for the room, you will hear it from us before it goes to the client.

Do you deliver samples?

Across the Jackson metro, yes. Tell us the address and when you need them by.
