What We Build

From a quick, clean panel system to a fully custom tiled walk-in, here is what we do — and we handle every piece, from demo to the final glass.

Walk-in showers

Open, easy-to-enter showers in tile or panel systems, sized to your space.

Tub-to-shower conversions

Swap a rarely used tub for a spacious walk-in shower — our most requested project.

Curbless / roll-in

No threshold to step over — clean, modern and the safest to enter.

Custom tile showers

Fully tiled walls, floors, niches and benches, waterproofed the right way.

Shower + tub combos

Keep a tub where it makes sense for family use and resale.

Glass doors & enclosures

Frameless and semi-frameless glass, sliding doors and walk-in panels.

The Popular One: Tub-to-Shower Conversion

By far the most requested shower project is turning a tub nobody uses into a large, easy-to-enter walk-in shower. It opens the room up, is far safer to step into, and is dramatically easier to clean. We remove the old tub, reframe and re-plumb as needed, waterproof the new space correctly, and finish it in tile or a low-maintenance panel system. If it’s the only tub in the home, we’ll talk through resale first — many buyers want at least one tub in the house. There’s more on the whole room in our bathroom remodeling guide.

Shower Wall & Base Options

The wall and base system sets the look, the maintenance and the timeline. Here is how the main choices compare.

OptionWhat it isTrade-offs
Custom tileTiled walls and floor over a waterproof membrane; any layout, size or design. Most design freedom and highest-end look; grout needs occasional care.
Solid-surface panelsLarge seamless panels in stone-look finishes.Few or no grout lines, very easy to clean; fewer custom shapes.
Acrylic surroundMolded, low-maintenance walls in set sizes.Fastest and most budget-friendly; least custom.
Custom tiled pan vs. prefab baseA tiled shower floor sloped by hand, or a ready-made base.Tiled pan = fully custom size/curbless; prefab base = faster, set sizes.

Waterproofing Done Right — the Part You Can’t See

This is where good showers are separated from the ones that leak and grow mold in a few years — and it is exactly where cheaper crews cut corners. Tile and grout are not waterproof. Water passes right through grout. What actually keeps water out of your walls and floor is what goes behind the tile.

We install a proper waterproof membrane on the shower walls and pan, build the base so it slopes correctly to the drain, and fully seal every niche, bench, corner and transition. We also make sure the bathroom is vented with a fan to the outside, because in Mississippi’s humidity ventilation is what stops moisture from feeding mold. Done right, your shower stays sound and beautiful for decades; done wrong, no amount of pretty tile will save it.

Fixtures & Features

The fittings are what make a shower feel like a retreat. We install quality valves and Moen fixtures and can add:

Accessible & Barrier-Free Showers

Whether you’re planning ahead or adapting now, a shower can be made far safer without looking clinical. We build these in seamlessly:

Licensed, Permitted, Done Right

A shower remodel touches plumbing and waterproofing, so it must be done to code. Mississippi Pro holds Mississippi Contractor License #18725-MC, pulls the required permits, and schedules inspections. As one licensed design-build company, we are the single point of responsibility from demo to the last bead of sealant.

What Goes Into Your Price

We quote every shower for your home, not off a chart. Your price comes down to the wall and base system you choose, the size and shape of the shower, the tile and fixtures, whether we move plumbing or go curbless, and the glass. We measure everything for free and give you one clear, itemized price — no guesswork.

Walk-In Shower Types & Layouts

The right layout depends on your bathroom’s shape and how much you want it to open up. The most common options:

Alcove

Set into a three-wall recess — the classic, space-efficient layout, often where a tub used to be.

Corner

Tucks into a corner with two finished walls and glass on the open sides — great for smaller baths.

Curbless / roll-in

Floor flows straight in with no threshold — the most open and accessible, with a linear drain.

Doorless walk-through

A glass panel and smart layout let you skip the door entirely — airy and easy to clean.

Wet room

The whole area is waterproofed so the shower and room share one open, spa-like space.

Keeping Your Shower Clean & Sealed

A well-built shower is easy to live with if you give it a little routine care:

Shower Remodeling FAQ

A prefab or acrylic shower can be done in several days, while a fully custom tiled shower takes longer because waterproofing, tile setting and grout all need proper cure time. We never rush the waterproofing or the mortar. You get a written schedule before we start.

Yes - tub-to-shower conversions are one of our most requested projects. We remove the old tub, reframe and re-plumb as needed, waterproof correctly, and build a low-threshold or fully curbless walk-in shower in tile or a solid-surface system.

Yes. A curbless shower has no threshold to step over, which looks clean and modern and is far safer to enter. It takes extra work to slope the floor and set the drain correctly, and we build it with full waterproofing so there is no leak risk.

The waterproofing behind the tile is everything. We install a proper waterproof membrane on the walls and pan, slope the base correctly to the drain, seal every niche and corner, and make sure the bathroom is vented with a fan to the outside. Tile and grout are not waterproof on their own - what is behind them is what protects your home.

Custom tile offers the most design freedom and a high-end look but needs proper waterproofing and grout care. Acrylic and solid-surface panel systems install faster, have few or no grout lines, and are very easy to clean. We carry all three and help you weigh looks, maintenance and budget.

Sometimes. Exact matches on older tile are not always possible, but we can often find a close match or design a complementary accent. We will show you honest options before you decide.

Yes. We build curbless entries, add solid blocking for grab bars, and install benches, hand-held shower heads, linear drains and non-slip floors so the shower is safe and comfortable for every stage of life.

Both. We install frameless and semi-frameless glass doors, sliding enclosures and fixed walk-in glass panels, or we can set the shower up for a curtain if you prefer. Frameless glass makes the bathroom feel larger and shows off the tile.
